Biographies

Peter Murray

Peter is a long-time resident of Caledonia, graduating from Caledonia High School in 1965. After attending McMaster University, Peter went on to obtain his Law Degree from the University of Toronto. After his call to the Bar in 1972, Peter articled and practiced in Toronto. He joined the firm and had been practicing in Caledonia since 1975.

Peter was the second member of the Murray family to work with the firm – his mother, Betty Murray, also worked as an assistant and bookkeeper to the firm before her retirement.

Peter is a former President and a member of the Haldimand Law Association. Peter has served as president of the Local Rotary and Kinsmen Clubs, and for ten years, as a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice Cayuga Small Claims Court.

Peter retired from his general practice in 2024, which is now managed by his daughter, Caitlin. After over 50 years in practice, Peter is now enjoying his retirement sailing on Lake Erie, curling in Mount Hope and doting on his grandchild.
